Though the transition from actor to director seems like a very natural one, it is certainly not an easy one. Many try and many more fail. Some, however, can gather up all the lessons learned in front of the camera and apply them brilliantly from the vantage point of the director’s chair. If, however, one is patient and persistent and can get a few breaks along the way, the magic eventually comes. A fairly successful Hollywood actor before his impatience (ironically) steered him into more regular work in the adult world, Thomas had loads of success as a performer, appearing in over 600 films. Many of the old ’70s and early ’80s porn flicks play like television dramas. The acting isn’t quite as good, and of course there are blatant scenes of fucking, but the plots are not all that shabby, all things considered. Such is the case for Eruption.

Remember the band Boston? They were known for doing an album every nine years or so throughout their career. It may or may not have been intentional, but each sequel was always a long wait for fans.
